Pulp Fiction Review

Iconic actors Samuel. L. Jackson and John Travolta along with legendary director, screenplay writer and actor Quentin Tarantino are at the helm of this masterpiece, also known as 'Pulp Fiction'.

Telling the story of two hit men, a gangster's wife, a boxer and a pair bandits that all seamlessly intertwine to create one perfect story. Pulp Fiction includes some of the greatest cameos of all time from Harvey Keitel to Quentin Tarantino himself, Pulp Fiction has some of the greatest actors and one of the best directors of all time at the head. The movie itself does not have one focused story and is not in chronological order. However, it still manages to make the audience understand the impeccable story. Not only did Tarantino break the traditional movie timeline, but he did it explicitly well.

One aspect of the movie that stood out to me, was the music and how you could tell that a lot of thought had gone in to choose the right music. Taken the time and effort in choosing the music meant that each scene is expressing the exact atmosphere you would expect it to have. The scene that really shows this off, is the diner scene in which Travolta and Uma Thurman dance to ‘You can never tell’ by Chuck Berry. The fun song, along with iconic dancing, sets the scene perfectly to the right atmosphere, fun but in ways serious just like the relationship between Travolta and Thurman's character.

Pulp Fiction is truly a one of kind movie, the type you get every decade that stand out for being smart and unique. The cast couldn’t have been picked any better, each actor giving one of the greatest performance of their careers. Tarantino wrote an incredible screenplay, so much so he got an Oscar for his work. With a film as Iconic as this, I doubt there will be another that can pull such a task of to Tarantino’s level of perfection.
